Some Re-bodied Girls

I am thankful for Amazon's Christmas/Year-end sales.  It's when I get most of my articulated dolly bodies. I also got some of the Barbie Style new fashion packs.

Here are Barbie as Maria in Sound of Music and Twirling Ballerina Teresa, both from 1995.  I found this pink fashion most appropriate for Maria - she's just missing her hat and guitar.

Also getting new bodies were my University Cheerleader dolls  -Tennessee and Oklahoma.

My poor cheerleader girls have glue heads and oily hair.  I used baby powder on Tennessee (she had the worst hair of the two) over a few days, then washed her hair with shampoo and it looked much better.  I'm sure I'll have to repeat this treatment as more glue seeps out. :(

  1. Your dolls look great on their new bodies. I wish Mattel would just stop using the glue in the heads altogether.

    1. Thank you, Phyllis. I don't understand why they continue, since it spoils their product. Who wants to play with a doll with icky hair? In addition, if the doll remains in its box, as the glue seeps out, it spoils the packaging.

  2. Wow, you did real good getting them new bodies. I never thought to use baby powder on the hair.

    1. Thanks Brini. The powder absorbs the icky stuff and can be brushed or washed out.

  3. Well, looks like body fever has hit most of our households! You girls look good in their new bodies. Most of my Barbies Model Muse Dolls are happy with their existing bodies, but I do have a number of SIS Barbies who want new bodies. I would be nice if you could simply buy replacement bodies from the doll companies. I had a problem with hard hair on an FR doll. Nothing worked, including the boiling water. So I finally got the gel out and softened her hair using a product normally used for getting stains out of clothes followed by vegetable oil! Anyway, your girls look great!

    1. Thanks, April.

I hope you find matching bodies for your SIS girls. I swapped mine that came with hard bodies to Fashionistas. My first Chandra came with rubbery legs and bending elbows, but I kept her on her body. Her skin tone is the hardest one to match. I wish I had bought all the Baby Phat Chandras I could've afforded when they first came out. They cost about US$50 now on Amazon.com!

Thanks for the tip. I just got a second Made To Move Barbie curly blonde and she has hard hair. The first one I got had lovely soft curls! So, I have that to fix. :)
