How I attached Parabox Gretel's head to her Volks DDY body:
This is the Volks DDY body neck post inserted into the Parabox Gretel head. What is required is a push-type retainer, placed over the neck post, that is big enough to cover the head hole and tight enough to grip the neck post to keep the head in place.
The neck post has grooves, so I figured all I would need was a stiff piece of plastic with an 'X' cut in the centre. My plan was to push the plastic retainer over the neck post, as far as it would go down, so that it would lock into one of the grooves on the neck post and stay in place.
I wanted to use a white (to avoid the
possibility of staining) plastic water bottle cover, but didn't have a knife
that was sharp enough to cut into the
cover. Instead, I approximated the size I would need and cut a piece of clear plastic packaging into a rectangle with rounded corners and made the 'X' cut in the middle.
I put the head on the body, then pushed the plastic retainer down over the post, through the hole created by the 'X' cut, as far as it would go. I had to remove it a few times in order to adjust the finished size so that it fit in the head space and not interfere with her eyes. The one piece turned out to be too thin and did not hold the head in place, so I cut a second piece of the same size and material and 'X' cut and pushed it over the post on top of the first retainer. The two pieces were strong enough and held the head firmly in place.

DeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteDo you have or know of a tutorial for how to attach an Obitsu head to a DD body? How were you able to do it with you Dollfie Dream Dynamite body and the Obitsu Gretel Head doll? She looks great!
Hi Callista!
DeleteI agree. Gretel is lovely!
I added information in my listing above on how I attached Gretel's head to the Volks body. I hope it is easy to follow. If you have any more questions, please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by.
